They're dropping like flies...

March 2007--B.B. (translation: before blog)

Around St. Patricks Day, Macy got a purple betta fish she called Elena.

Elena died sometime last night/this morning. It's been coming for a while--she had a white tumor of sorts on her side that continued to grow, despite Bobby's attempts to scrape it off with a toothpick. Just last week I told Macy to be prepared, Elena was going to die soon. The tumor thing made it difficult for her to swim to the surface, and she was hardly moving at all. If a fish could look miserable, she did.

But she had that fish for 2 1/2 years. That has to be a record in betta fish world.

She wants hermit crabs now..we'll see about that one.
