Recap of 5th grade

Thursday marked the last day of school for all three of us. It was a very hectic day, with me finishing stuff at school, leaving in the middle for the 5th grade clap-out, then going back to school. Wouldn't have missed it for the world.

The last day of school, the younger grades/teachers/parents line the hallways, and the 5th graders walk out of school for the last time. Apparently, it's a highly emotional event. Parents had tears streaming down their faces, and several of the girls were crying like someone had died. I did get teary eyed, but I didn't sob like other parents.

Here's Macy coming through the clap-out. These pictures are from a friend; Bobby gave Macy a high-five and his arm blocked my camera. Yeah, not happy about that. But it's okay--I have these pictures.

Here's me, Bobby and Macy outside after the clap-out.

Macy and her long-time BFF, Paige. Paige is Macy's first friend from preschool, and they continue to be great friends.
Macy and Kaylee

Macy and her guidance counselor. This woman made a HUGE impact on Macy this year. Not because Macy needed to be counseled, but she did some pretty cool things throughout the year. Macy was involved in her Girls Leadership Club after school, and had a great time.

Macy and her 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Ritter. Just like the guidance counselor, this woman made a huge impact on Macy.  So, so, so thankful for these women for being role models for my Macy.
And just like that, in the blink of an eye, Macy will be entering middle school this fall. She's a strong, brave, smart, funny, kind person, and I'm so proud of her and can't wait to see what happens as she gets older.
